WHY BOX NEEDS YOU We are looking for a detail-oriented enterprise architect to drive the long term architectural planning through to daily operations of our organization. The enterprise architect's responsibilities include improving the current IT/ES architecture, optimizing business operations, and setting the direction and approach for integrating information applications and programs. The enterprise architect is also responsible for cataloging, developing, coordinating, communicating, maintaining, and enforcing overall enterprise architecture models, representations, initiatives, capabilities, and components to adequately perform the organization's business and technology activities.
To be successful as an enterprise architect, you should have excellent architectural design, planning, technical, analytical, and project management skills. You should also have strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Demonstrate creativity, foresight, and architectural judgment in developing architectural solutions.
- As an enterprise architect, you’ll need to understand how to use and implement EA frameworks (i.e. TOGAF)
- Establish, lead, and continuously improve architecture and solution review meetings
- Partner with technical teams, BSA’s and business stakeholders in coming up with the roadmap
- Translate business portfolio strategies into current and future state architecture roadmaps and blueprints
- Provide technical direction and guidance to the business and development teams
- Partner with other technology groups to set, document, and implement standards, develop and implement processes
- Participate in enterprise governance and enterprise initiatives and activities
- Perform implementation feasibility assessment to identify requirements, issues, and risks
- Influence, develop and communicate strategies, guidelines, standards and solutions
- Strategize all future tech/software investments to align with goals and establish measurements
- Guide metric-driven approach and instill elements into the architecture that provide insights to run the business
- Work with 3rd party partners/vendors to understand their tech roadmaps and position Box to benefit accordingly
- Identify system needs, capture requirements, evaluate current state environments, assess risks, create and convey architectural recommendations, and pursue resolutions of factors impeding success.
WHO YOU ARE
- Minimum of 8 years of experience defining and implementing software development lifecycle tools and methodologies.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in technology leadership roles focused on IT technology, vision, planning, architecture, and scope.
- Experience of designing and architecting large scale solutions (APIs, middleware, Web Services, UI, etc)
- Experience in any formal architecture framework such as TOGAF, Zachman
- Deep architectural experience with Salesforce, Zuora, Marketo, Workday, NetSuite, Anaplan, Concur, Certa & Avalara
- Self-motivated; ability to work independently and in a team environment to coordinate and maintain positive working relationships with other design professionals.
- Design and implementation experience with major cloud platforms in the Technology space
- Must be comfortable building systems architecture artifacts using modeling and can share the architectural intention to delivery teams for execution.
- Broad knowledge of software development and software testing methodologies along with change and configuration management practices in internally hosted, and cloud-hosted environments.
- Demonstrate an understanding of cloud computing architectural fundamentals including distinctions between IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS. A clear understanding of Data Protection requirements in securing cloud-hosted applications.
- Experience with automated deployment, continuous integration, and release engineering tools.
- Knowledge of infrastructure automation tools and experiencing implementing these technologies
- Expertise in solution delivery and strategy Solid knowledge of design patterns and refactoring concepts
- Experience as technical lead organizing and mentoring junior and intermediate level engineers/architects
