At Bowman and Brooke we know it takes each and every team member to deliver best in class service. That’s where you come in! We are actively searching for a Legal Administrative Assistant / Legal Secretary to join our team in Torrance, CA.

Position Responsibilities Include:

  • Draft, edit, format and proofread legal documents and correspondence
  • Ability to manage multiple attorneys’ calendars, schedule meeting and appointments, calendar court dates and e-file court documents
  • Save documents and emails to our document management system (iManage)
  • Assist in the organization and maintenance of case files
  • Prepare for trial as needed
  • Make travel arrangements and process expense reports
  • Process client disbursements
  • Provide overflow assistance to other secretaries and attorneys as needed

Experience and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree, preferred
  • At least 5 years of experience working in a legal or office environment
  • Advanced skills with MS Word including specific knowledge with formatting, tracking changes and comparing documents. Proficient in other MS Office programs.
  • Experience with Table of Authorities and Table of Contents a plus.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Must be extremely detail oriented, organized and have great follow through skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Service-oriented, forward-thinking, and eager to learn
  • Accuracy, speed and professional is a must
  • Ability to work occasional overtime when the need arises
