Bowhead / UIC Technical Services is Hiring a Visitor Control Specialist Near Dahlgren, VA

Overview

Visitor Control Specialist (JWAC)

Bowhead is seeking a Visitor Control Specialists to support the Joint Warfare Analysis Center contract in Dahlgren, VA. The Access Control Specialist handles personnel access and equipment, monitors intrusion detection systems and closed circuit television control and annunciation panels for alarm conditions. 

Responsibilities
  • Comply with and follow all Standard Operating Procedures.
  • The Visitor Control Specialist will provide access control, conduct bag inspections at entry control points as directed, badge issuance and accountability, and alarm monitoring and investigation. There shall be no more than one (1) non-administrative access error or monitoring oversight per year that results in a security infraction and zero that result in a violation.
  • The Visitor Control Specialist will screen personnel using metal detectors and provide inspections of all packages, bags, and other hand-carried items entering and leaving the customer facility on random intervals as determined by agreement between the Contractor and Government no less than three (3) times per month.
  • The Visitor Control Specialist will notify the customer Security Office of any personnel who do not comply, reference the SOP for actions required after notification. The Government will take appropriate action for personnel who refuse and alert the appropriate authorities. Results shall be documented and included in Monthly Status Reports.
  • The Visitor Control Specialist will provide visitor access control by staffing the customer front desk for continuous operations during customer working hours 0600-1800.
  • The Visitor Control Specialist will greet customer visitors, acquire arriving and departing visitor logs signatures, control the introduction of prohibited items into customer (e.g. – cell phones), and notify visitor’s point of contact of their arrival.
  • The Visitor Control Specialist will control, issue, collect, and account for temporary customer badges to facility visitors, per customer Security SOPs.
  • The Visitor Control Specialist will maintain records/logs detailing all visitors and temporary badges issued as controlled items. Inventory and secure all accountable and controlled access badges at close of each business day.
  • The Visitor Control Specialist will notify customer Security Office of missing badges before close of business on the day of the discovery and report the findings in a daily log.
  • The Visitor Control Specialist will use badge accountability databases to identify and locate personnel who have not returned their visitor badges before the close of business each day. Use badge accountability databases to account for employee badges of personnel no longer employed by customer.
  • The Visitor Control Specialist will perform escort duties for both cleared / un-cleared visiting personnel as needed.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree and 5 years of relevant experience is required. Additional work experience may be considered in lieu of formal education for a highly qualified candidate.
  • Proficient in Excel, Word, and Power Point.
  • Demonstrated excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated strong attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated skills in prioritization and multi-tasking.

Physical Demands:

  • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds
  • Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged amounts of time
  • Must be able to twist, bend and squat periodically

SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIRED: Must currently hold an active security clearance at the Top Secret level. US Citizenship is a requirement for a Top Secret clearance at this location.
