Job Summary
Under indirect supervision or independently, the Orthodontist diagnoses and treats problems with patient teeth and tissues of the mouth along with providing patient guidance to prevent future oral problems. The Orthodontist designs treatment options for patients with other support personnel and serves as expert in preparing dental plans. This position must provide patient and practice support services; including, but not limited to, personal assistance, medical attention, and emotional support.
Essential Knowledge and Skills
Promote oral health
Diagnose oral diseases and malocclusions
Educate patients on oral health and various treatment options
Review treatment plan options with patients and parents/guardians
Review, maintain and update patients’ medical and dental records
Review and interpret x-rays and diagnostic tests
Monitor growth and development of the teeth and jaws
Always maintain the highest level of confidentiality to HIPAA standards.
Adhere to strict safety guidelines and procedures to OSHA and office standards.
Qualifications Required
Bachelor of Science Degree.
DMD or DDS degree from a university-based dental education program accredited by the American DentalAssociation Commission on Dental Accreditation (ADA CODA).
Current state license to practice dentistry.
Documentation of hepatitis B vaccination.
Proof of malpractice insurance.
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) or cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) certification
Current Dental Licensure and good standing with state dental board (MA and or NH), and state and Federal DEA
Board eligible or board certified in orthodontics.
Recent graduate from Orthodontic program is acceptable.
