FTE: 0.62 - 24.8 hours per week - Regular, ongoing

Summary:

The Math Interventionist position requires a commitment to accelerating all students to grade level proficiencies using an in-depth understanding of the theories of mathematics instruction. An interventionist will work closely with other school interventionists, administrators, classroom teachers, parents and their Teacher Leader to support a school wide systematic approach to increasing student achievement. They demonstrate a strong knowledge of the curriculum and content area while positively impacting student achievement through innovative instructional strategies and effectively managing the learning environment. The Math Interventionist is responsible for supporting student achievement in the area of Mathematics. The Interventionist provides individual or small group instruction to students who are struggling academically. This position is also responsible for monitoring, reporting, and communicating student progress and performance. 

Responsibilities:

  • Provides high quality mathematics instruction to individual students and small groups.
  • Uses data to provide instruction to students and to bring their skills to grade-level.
  • Collaborates with teachers, administration, and families to help identify best practices for students.
  • Provides data to school teams and participates in decisions about student progress.
  • Provides diagnostic assessments for students as needed.
  • Provides input for program development.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Currently hold a Colorado teaching license in Elementary Education or have licensure application in process for Elementary Education or have licensure application in process with appropriate endorsement, or willingness to acquire endorsement as: Math Specialist (must upload license or in process documentation to application).
  • Minimum of three years teaching experience at either the elementary or secondary level.
  • Completed and submitted BVSD on-line application.

Preferred:

  • Diagnostic and prescriptive skills in math.
  • Experience with MTSS/RTI structures including interim assessments, targeted instruction and progress monitoring.
  • Experience with linguistically diverse and other diverse learners.
  • Highly skilled at using digital resources.
  • Ability to manage time effectively and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to function well in self-directed activities, work collaboratively, and take initiative to complete tasks.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with administrators, teachers, specialists, and parents, both verbally and in writing.
  • Skilled in group facilitation, coordination, and leadership.

Salary Information:

Salary Placement varies according to experience and education.
