Summary:

Boulder Medical Center (BMC) is currently seeking a Surgery Scheduler to join our General Surgery team! This position will be full-time working 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday.

Job Perks:

• Day shift schedules are Monday through Friday. There are occasional voluntary four (4) hour shifts on Saturday mornings from 8 am - 12 pm for several primary clinics (Family Medicine and Pediatrics).
• Experience working in both primary care and specialty care clinics.

Job Duties:

• Exhausts all resources to call for and obtain the medical record for physicians, nurses or MAs and appointments. Searches for medical record carefully and with diligence.
• Prepares charts for appointments per department protocol by checking for and updating charts and adding required forms, progress note with date, and checking for current registration form, adding a new form if current registration form is more than two years old.
• When required, provides copies of physicians’/providers daily schedule to reception desk, doctor’s desk, and nurse’s desk, updating as needed throughout the day.
• Obtains and delivers charts to appropriate department personnel, supporting chart flow within own department.
• Correctly schedules appointments according to physician preference and scheduling protocol.
• Assists surgeon’s MA in precertification of procedures and medications.
• Additional Medical Receptionist duties as assigned.

Skills and Abilities:

• Must use good judgment and discretion in screening telephone call, answering inquires and relaying appropriate information
• Ability to work under pressure-pleasant phone manner-tact-diplomacy-flexibility.

Education Requirements

• High school or equivalent.

Previous Experience:

• One year work experience involving public contact-prefer heavy phone experience and working knowledge of computer and proficiency at keyboarding skills.

• $16.54 - $21.50 / hour / depending on experience

• Boulder and Lousiville, CO
