Summary:

Boulder Medical Center (BMC) is currently seeking a LPN to join our Podiatry team! This position is scheduled to work 18 hours per week on Wednesdays and Thursdays.Due to the specialized nature of foot care for Podiatry patients on the job training will be provided.

Job Perks:

  • Day shift schedules are Monday through Friday. There are occasional voluntary four (4) hour shifts on Saturday mornings from 8 am - 12 pm for several primary clinics (Family Medicine and Pediatrics).
  • Experience working in both primary care and specialty care clinics.

Job Duties:

  • Provides comprehensive professional nursing care to individuals and/or families acting as the patient’s advocate, facilitator, and educator.
  • Recognizes, evaluates, and responds to emergency or unusual situations in the clinic, using nursing judgment to ensure medical care.
  • Assists the patient and/or instructs the patient in preparation for the nail care service.
  • Prepares examination/treatment rooms for nail care patients by ensuring that appropriate supplies, equipment and instruments are available and ready on a daily basis. Maintains examination/treatment rooms in a neat and orderly manner.
  • Provides nail care services based on physician guided protocols.
Experience and Skills:
  • Must be able to recognize and identify patient’s symptoms and use appropriate professional judgment in course of action.
  • Possess broad knowledge base of general nursing practice, knowledge of acute practice based on skill level, licensure and scope of practice.
  • Good history-taking skills - strong, competent computer skills.
  • Demonstrates accuracy and complete documentation skills.
  • Good time management and organizational skills.
  • Relates well and communicates with patients, providers, and staff.
  • Demonstrates self-direction in establishing priorities and working with little supervision.
  • Maintains high level of precision in judgment, accuracy of assessment, and skill in problem solving under stress based on skill level, licensure and scope of practice.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program. Licensed by the Colorado State Board of Nursing or equivalent.
  • This position requires the physical ability to bend forward in order to care for patients' podiatry needs. If you have have further questions regarding this requirement, you can discuss this with the hiring manager at the time of the interview.
Experience
  • One (1) or more years LPN or RN experience in a clinic or hospital, preferred.
Salary Range:
  • LPN - $22.21 - $28 / per hour depending on experience
  • RN - $29.50 - $37.50/hour; depending on experience
