Summary:

Boulder Medical Center (BMC) is seeking an Retail Optician to join our team! This position is part-time working 16 hours a week with some flexibility;1 pm - 5 pm on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, and 8 am - 12 pm on Fridays. We offer on the job training, however, Optical experience is defined as a plus.

Job Duties:

• Assists patients in selecting eyeglasses frames in accordance with prescription specifications and facial structure.
• Repairs frames per patient's request, when possible.
• Adjusts frames for proper fit and to the patient's satisfaction.
• Orders lenses and frames in a timely manner.
• Performs the following functions in the lab: neutralizes, layout of frames, cut & edge and complete finish work.
• Maintains equipment in proper working condition.
• Assists with the purchase of frames for sales (works/talks with sales reps.).
• Assists with the dispensing of contact lenses, as required.

Education:

• High School Diploma.

Previous Experience

• Past experience in Optical and / or Ophthalmology, preferred.

Salary Range:

• $18.36 - 23.87/hour; depending on experience
