Boulder County is Hiring a Dougherty Museum Guide Near Boulder, CO

Boulder County Parks & Open Space Department has five openings for a seasonal Dougherty Museum Guide. These positions will provide museum guest services at the Dougherty Museum in Longmont, Colorado.
This is a seasonal, hourly, non-benefited position. This position will work Fridays - Sundays from 11am - 5pm averaging between 6-18 hours weekly. This position is located at the Dougherty Museum, 8306 N. 107th St, Longmont, CO.

Boulder County requires its employees to reside in the state of Colorado as of the first day of work.

Hiring Salary Range: $23.23 hourly

Staff the museum which is open June through August on Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays, from 11 a.m. to 5p.m. Docents typically work full days (6 hours, including breaks)
Prepare museum for opening and/or closing
Greet visitors, take admission fees when assigned, and be available to answer questions about the museum and exhibits
Speak to a wide range of ages, including families, school children and seniors
Lead occasional group tours
Light housekeeping duties, such as dusting, wiping counters, and sweeping

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

Boulder County is looking for well qualified candidates to fill our positions. Any combination of relevant education and experience is encouraged. In this position, we are looking for a minimum of a high school education and/or experience or volunteer experience in history, museum studies, education, and/or customer service.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Bilingual in Spanish and English
Knowledge of or interest in local history, vintage automobiles and/or farm equipment and/or pianos/organs and/or record players or related field(s)
Customer service experience and a desire to work with the public
Comfortable speaking to a wide range of ages and audiences
Must have personal transportation
