• Join an established hospitalist service
• 7 on/ 7 off schedule - NIGHTS
• Large hospitalist office and sleep room in-house
• 108 bed facility with manageable patient load with a variety of patients
• Complete admissions from the ER and answer calls from the inpatient unit, collaborating with nursing, case management and physician team

Responsibilities

• Assumes responsibility for quality of medical services rendered to patients.

• Consults with Collaborative Physician as needed.

• Follows all protocols as established with collaborative Physician.

• Maintains current licensure and required continuing education.

• Ability to appropriately assess patients with a wide range of conditions of a sufficient level of acuity to require acute inpatient hospital services.

• Ability to perform an appropriate Medical History and Physical Examination and to develop a diagnostic and treatment plan in conjunction with the Collaborating Physician. Utilizes the organization’s electronic health record.

• Ability to provide first call coverage for hospitalist service patients including initiation of appropriate therapy under the supervision of the Collaborating Physician.

Qualifications

Education

a.) Graduate of accredited school of nursing with BS and MS in nursing, including successful educational preparation as a Nurse Practitioner to care for adult patients.

Licensure/Certification

a.) Current licensure by Missouri State Board of Nursing

b.) ACLS preferred – required within 6 months of hire

c.) BLS required

Work Experience

a.) Past experience as Registered Nurse.

b.) Preferably has at least two years as an APN.

c.) Experience in a high acuity Hospital-based setting (such as Intensive Care,

Intermediate Care or Emergency Department is preferred.
