BOTG Solutions is Hiring an EHS Specialist Near Fremont, CA

We are looking for an EHS Specialist for a 12 months contract position. Please send your resume along with hourly rate expectation if interested.

Title: EHS Specialist

Location: Fremont, CA

Duration: 12 months contract (Temp to Perm)

Exact Schedule - 6am-6pm M-F

Position Summary:

The EH&S Specialist will review, evaluate, and analyze work environments and create procedures to control, eliminate, and prevent injury caused by chemical, physical, and biological agents or ergonomic factors. They will lead the site safety program and deliver on our safety goals.

Key Responsibilities:

· May conduct inspections and enforce adherence to laws and regulations governing the health and safety of individuals, as well as company standards and procedures.

· Partner with Corporate EHS to ensure site goals align with corporate goals.

· May collaborate with others to institute control and remedial measures for hazardous and potentially hazardous conditions, equipment or situations. Oversee all ergonomic assessments, and follow all action items to a timely completion.

· Manage Workers Compensation program including tracking restrictions, reporting, and risk mitigation.

· Conduct safety training and education programs, and demonstrate the use of safety equipment.

· Coordinate training sessions for First Responders.

· Coordinate right-to-know programs regarding hazardous chemicals and other substances.

· Provide and train to current MSDS sheets and standards.

· Inspect and evaluate workplace environments, equipment, and practices, in order to ensure compliance with safety standards and government regulations.

· Responsible for all OSHA Reporting, including the OSHA 300 log.

· Develop and publish capital requests for Safety related equipment and facility modifications.

· Inspect specified areas to ensure the presence of fire prevention equipment, safety equipment, and first-aid supplies. Investigate accidents and/or near misses to identify causes and associated corrective actions, and track these to a timely conclusion.

· Assist in the maintenance and updating of emergency action plans and procedures, and conduct emergency response drills.

· Maintain inventories of hazardous materials and hazardous wastes to ensure that materials are handled properly. Recommend suspension of activities that pose threats to workers' health and safety.

· Provide new-employee health and safety orientations, and assist in the development of materials relating to these presentations. Coordinate and manage monthly safety meetings/ lead the Safety Committee.

· Must track and close out all items in an expeditious and timely fashion.

· Recommend measures to help protect workers from potentially hazardous work methods, processes, or materials.

· Safely handle all chemical waste in a manner which complies with all local, state and federal regulations.

· Perform packaging, handling, storage and disposal activities involving both hazardous and non-hazardous waste in accordance with applicable environmental regulations.

· Manage forklift training program to ensure all operations are trained and appropriately certified.

· Perform regulatory compliance inspections and maintain records. Participate in waste minimization program.

· Performs daily housekeeping duties.

· Actively support and participate in Practical Process Improvement/5S/and other continuous improvement/lean projects.

· Comply with all company policies and procedures (safety, regulatory, etc.)

· Complete specific job-related training requirements.

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:

· Two to three years experience in the manufacturing Environmental, Safety and Health field.

· Bachelor's degree in Environmental, Safety, Regulatory Law, Engineering or a related field is required.

· Computer experience, Word, Excel, and Power Point.

· Demonstrated experience with OSHA regulatory requirements.

· Must be able to demonstrate safety leadership skills to promote safety throughout the organization and have the ability to actively manage numerous action lists, appropriately prioritizing and bringing issues to closure.

· Certified 1st Aid, CPR, AED Instructor highly desirable.

· Qualification to certify Fork Lift operators highly desirable.

Non-Negotiable Hiring Criteria:

· Excellent oral, written, presentation and leadership skills.

· Able to wear respiratory protection, required

· The ability to lift, push and/or pull, up to 50 lbs Self-starter, attention to detail, team player

· Excellent multi-tasking skills with ability to lead and prioritize a variety of concurrent tasks with minimal direction Read, write and understand English.

· Able to stand, bend, stoop, kneel and carry.

Job Types: Full-time, Contract

Pay: $30.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40.00 per week

Schedule:

  • 8 hour shift
