Boston University is Hiring a PROGRAM MANAGER, ACADEMY OF MEDICAL EDUCATORS, School of Medicine, Dean's Office Near BOSTON, MA

The Medical Education Office (MEO) provides oversight to the M.D. programs design, implementation of the curriculum and assessments. The MEO also manages all 1st and 2nd year courses and several 3rd and 4th year electives and programs. The MEOs broad scope requires faculty and staff to interact with students across all 4 years of medical school. The Program Manager oversees the Academy of Medical Educator (AME) program, supports the Assistant Dean of Curriculum and Instructional Design, and coordinates three 4th year electives, including the Medical Education Curriculum Design elective, Quality Improvement 1 and Quality Improvement 2, primarily in an organizational and administrative capacity. The ideal candidate has strong interpersonal and organizational skills, multitasking abilities, problem solving skills, is detail oriented, and can work as part of a team.
The Program Manager will:

  • Provide general oversight of the administration of the AME program.
  • Support curriculum and instructional design initiatives 
  • Plan and schedule meetings and work collaboratively with faculty and staff 
  • Act as administrative contact for the AME and course and clerkship directors or faculty working on curriculum or instructional design updates
  • Collaborate with Assistant Deans to prepare communications and course materials 
  • Handles confidential information regarding students needing coaching from faculty 
  • Efficiently coordinate logistical requirements to ensure smooth processes 
  • Propose quality improvement initiatives in administration and information delivery 
  • Work independently, take initiative, and follow up on tasks in a timely manner 
  • Liasian to faculty, students and programs and helps problem solve issues 
  • Provide administrative support to the Assistant Dean of Curriculum and Instructional Design
  • Create new systems 
  • Possess organizational skills, attention to detail, multitasking, and good communication skills 
  • Have strong interpersonal skills and can work with students, faculty, and school administrators 
  • Work as part of a larger team and provide support as requested by office manager and faculty; 
    fields questions and concerns with a positive demeanor
  • Possess good writing skills
  • Expertise with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel particularly), Outlook, Qualtrix, and Blackboard (can be trained on this one)
