Dr. Junenette Peters, Associate Professor, Department of Environmental Health, Boston University School of Public Health is seeking a Postdoctoral Research Associates to work on two projects: (1) metals exposure and central nervous system health and (2) transportation noise and multiple health outcomes. The start dates are Spring through Fall 2024. The position primarily relates to (1) the DOD 'Relationship of Metal Exposures to Health Risk Markers, Mood, and Cognitive Functioning in Military Veterans' project and the (2) FAA ASCENT 'Cardiovascular Disease and Aircraft Noise Exposures' project. The projects may involve multi-university and government collaborators and focus on (1) associations between metal exposures and inflammatory markers, mood and cognitive functioning and (2) associations between aircraft and other transportation noise exposures and cardiovascular and mental health outcomes in large cohorts. Applicants should have strong training and experience in epidemiology and biostatistics; training in GIS/spatial analysis a plus. Demonstration of publishing potential such as prior lead authorship also a plus.

Required Skills

PhD/Doctorate in environmental health, exposure assessment, environmental epidemiology, exposure science, biostatistics, environmental policy, or related fields;

Strong organizational and time management skills, with ability to meet deadlines;

Ability to work independently as well as part of a team;

Demonstrated publication record;

Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and justice;

Good communication and writing skills.
