Boston University Physical Therapy Clinic (BUPTC) is part of Boston University College of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences. The Physical Therapy Clinic Aid assist Physical Therapists in the delivery of quality patient care; While performing this important function, assure that patients are receiving excellent customer service and the clinic experience is personal and lively; It is expected that the aide will be proactive in this role; Be attentive to the patients needs; Talk to patients and give feedback on their performance; Immediately notify Physical Therapists if any problems are perceived; While patients are present, sitting is not permitted within the treatment area, unless it is part of an activity related to the care of the patient.

Essential Functions:

• Introduce yourself to patients as an aide working with the Physical Therapists 
• Assist in patient care (see above) as directed by the primary PT. 
• Maintain organization of equipment and objects within the clinic.
• Fill cup holder and water cooler as needed. 
• Fill hand sanitizer.
• Wipe down tables and change pillowcases after each use. 
• Wipe down equipment that patients lie down on, i.e. total gym/shuttle, leg press, bench.
• Wipe down equipment that is reused with rubbing alcohol (i.e. electrical stimulation pads, face pillow, ultrasound head, UBE handles, treadmill handles, exercise balls, etc.)
• Assure supply of ice cups in freezer.
• Manage linen supply. At the Ryan Center, aides will be responsible to launder the linen/towels on site using the washing machine/detergent provided.
• Assist Front Office as needed when slow in clinic, or when needed. 
• Additional duties include any tasks as requested by the supervisor related to clinic maintenance and or patient care.
• Monitor pool levels and log results. 
• Monitor freezer temperature and log results. 
• Clean dryer vent and log timing.
• Dust machines and other treatment equipment. 
• Fill ultrasound gel and table cleaning bottles. 
• Fold and store laundry (as needed).
• Fill in weekly time sheet. 
• Order equipment as needed notify supervisor as needed. 
• Reduce ice buildup in freezer (assess monthly, perform as needed)
