BRCPS seeks an inspiring Theatre Arts Teacher who is responsible for teaching art education to students in grades PK-6th Grade and assists the staff of the school in the improvement and appreciation of art instruction. To provide learning activities appropriate to the age of the students in order to develop an interest in and ability for creative expression. To develop an understanding and appreciation of art in each student.Responsibilities:Prepare and deliver instructional lessons with clear and measurable outcomesProvide appropriate and effective learning experiences for students from a wide range of socio-economic levels and cultural backgroundsUse a wide variety of teaching techniques to support student learningDesign and demonstrate differentiated instruction to meet the needs of all studentsImplement accommodations and curricular modifications as specified in educational plans (IEPs) and as needed to meet the learning needs of studentsUse a variety of formal and informal assessments to accurately measure student progress toward and to modify further instruction.Use a computer and other technology to support student learning in and out of the classroomProvide students with support (remediation and enrichment) using a variety of strategiesCollaborate with colleagues on curriculum, lesson and assessment designParticipate actively in faculty, department and team meetingsSet professional development goals, develop professional development plans, and participate in professional development activities that improve teaching practiceCommunicate effectively with students, colleagues, parents, and the communityFollow safety procedures and written and verbal instructionsConsistent and on-time attendance is required for supervision and instruction of the studentsQualifications:Bachelor's degree in Fine Arts or equivalentDESE Art Teacher licenseSolid working knowledge of the concepts, activities and techniques related to teaching art at the required levelStrong foundation in classroom management
