Boston Public Schools is Hiring a Food Service Worker Near Boston, MA
Commitment Date:
June 24, 2024 - August 23, 2024 [program start and end dates are subject to change]
Must be willing to travel to all of the City of Boston neighborhood areas. Initial assignments will vary from four to nine weeks.
Food Service Workers will be assigned to either on-site cooking locations or satellite meal locations; as needed.
Job Description: The Food and Nutrition Services Department will be sponsoring the City of Boston's Summer Food Services Program. The goal of the program is to provide nutritious meals to children who are attending various community centers and public/private agency summer programs in the City of Boston. The program will primarily operate Monday through Friday. However, there may be a few Saturday sites. This position is required to work the duration of the Summer Program; as needed. Mandatory training will be provided.
Terms:
Stipend Opportunity, $17.00 per hour, 4 hours a day, Regular workday (may vary depending upon the site, and the number of people assigned).
Reports to: Site Supervisor or Site Manager
Responsibilities: Individuals selected for these positions will be responsible for:
- Serving and accounting for meals given to children
- Assists with record keeping.
- Ensures the health and safety of students and personnel by instructions in adherence to The Massachusetts Sanitary Code.
- Maintaining a clean site.
Qualifications Required:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Dependability
- Basic math skills
- Must have good attendance and good evaluations
- Prior food service experience.
