Boston Children's Hospital is Hiring a Nurse Practitioner II, Waltham Pre-Operative Anesthesia Service Near Waltham, MA

Job Summary
The Nurse Practitioner in the Waltham Pre-Operative Anesthesia Service, will be responsible for:

Conducting patient/family interviews and documenting patient histories, psychosocial histories, health status, and medical problems or potential problems. When advanced medical assessment/triage is needed.
Communicating necessity, preparation, nature, and anticipated effects of anesthesia to patients and families.
Organizing patient approval representing Waltham Anesthesia Directors to nursing staff and surgical departments

Offering expertise as consultant and educator to per-operative nursing staff
Participating in or leading collection of data for anesthesia cancelations, criteria changes and improvement processes
Ordering, scheduling, and/or performing laboratory tests and diagnostic procedures such as urinalyses, pregnancy, blood tests, and x-rays.

To qualify, you must have:

A Master of Science in Nursing and certification as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner or Family Nurse Practitioner
MA licensure as an Advanced Practice Nurse.
5 year of nursing experience in pediatrics (inpatient or outpatient) preferred.
New grad NPs will be considered (with 5 years of previous RN experience)
Ability to work full-time (Monday to Friday).
