Boss Energy is Hiring an Ammonia Process Specialist Near Houston, TX

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and supervise the execution of early-phase studies for ammonia projects.
  • Manage and provide guidance to a team of junior process engineers.
  • Facilitate technical coordination with customers, licensors/suppliers, and subcontractors.
  • Collaborate closely with project management, construction engineering, and commissioning teams to ensure smooth internal workflows.
  • Generate essential process deliverables, including heat and material balances, PFDs, technology reviews, layouts, and operations philosophies.
  • Contribute to the development of innovative methods, tools, and guidelines within the Process Community of Practice.
  • Mentor and support the professional growth of engineers locally and globally.
  • Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of confidentiality, Non-Disclosure Agreements, and intellectual property management.
  • Apply in-depth knowledge of ammonia plant operations to enhance project evaluations and operational efficiency.

Requirements:

  • Hold an Engineering degree in Chemical Engineering or a related field.
  • Hands-on experience in ammonia production, engineering, and design.
  • Prior experience in team management or project management is highly desirable.
  • Proficiency in process design tools such as P&ID, PFD, and process simulation software (e.g., Hysys, PROII).
  • Familiarity with international industrial design standards.
  • Experience conducting safety reviews, including HAZID/HAZOP.
  • Exhibit strong attention to detail, autonomy, curiosity, and exceptional teamwork abilities.
  • Excellent communication, writing, and presentation skills.
