General Shop Hand

Boss Display is a full-service design and production firm specializing in interactive exhibits for Children’s Museums and Science Centers. Boss Display maintains an environment of quality-orientated employees, which is reflected in our leading position in the market. This is a contact position with full-time hours.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Maintain a clean, organized and safe work area

• Prepare parts for the paint, metal and fabrication departments using a variety of hand tools and machinery such as bandsaws, chop saws, table saws, hand routers, drills, etc.

• Assist with general fabrication as needed
• Pick up supplies/parts from various vendors using the company cargo van and box truck

• Follow all safety policies and procedures, maintaining OSHA compliance through work practice

• Attendance, promptness, professionalism, the ability to pay attention to detail, cooperativeness with co-workers, vendors and managers

• Other duties or special projects as assigned

Qualifications:

• Valid Ohio drivers license
• Moderate knowledge and experience using various hand tools, power tools, various saws, routers, drills, etc.
• Knowledge of reading a tape measure down to 1/16 of an inch
• Ability to lift and move heavy objects - experience with hand trucks and/or forklifts is a plus
• Comfortable working from lifts, ladders and high platforms occasionally
• Must have a strong attention to detail, note taking and organization

• Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously

• Inventive spirit, initiative to work alone without direct supervision and be responsible for timely completion of assigned tasks

• Good communication skills, positive attitude and be able to succeed in a team environment

Job Type: Contract // Hourly Rate: $17/hr

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Contract

Pay: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour
