Borusan Pipe USA is Hiring a HSE Coordinator Near Baytown, TX

Description:

The HSE Coordinator is responsible for assisting with implementing and supporting the company’s OH & S audits (ISO 45001), and incident investigations of the Environmental Management System (EMS 14001), and Environmental Sustainability and Governance Program (ESG) as well as ensuring full compliance with all applicable Environmental programs, policies, and regulations in close coordination with the Director of HSE.

Working Conditions:

Working conditions are of a professional office environment. Administrative personnel may require personal protective equipment (PPE), including but not limited to, eye safety glasses, hearing protection, work boots, and hard hats.

1. Qualifications:

1.1. Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, Environmental Engineering, HSE Engineering,(ISO 14001) Occupational Health and Safety or related field and or at least 4 years of related experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment or company

1.2. Experience maintaining Environmental permits (Storm Water, Air, Wastewater), SWPPP, SPCC, Air Emissions, RCRA, and DOT Hazardous Waste Classifications.

1.3. Collaborate and provide subject matter expert knowledge for environmental management, water stewardship, and sustainability.

1.4. Experience developing and presenting training for (EMS) environmental-related awareness and ISO 14001 compliance.

1.5. Ability to interact well with the public and can learn quickly.

1.6. Ability to handle several situations at once with poise and confidence.

1.7. Effective verbal and listening communication skills.

1.8. Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and capable of working with MS Office suite and the ability to grasp an ERP system.

1.9. Working knowledge or awareness of the EMS ISO 14001:2015 and OH&S ISO 45001:2018 Occupational Health and Management systems and respective audit requirements.

1.10. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.

1.11. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, employees, clients, customers, and the public.

1.12. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

1.13. Must be able to work with a flexible schedule which may require overtime and weekends when needed.

1.14. Demonstrated strong organizational and multi-tasking skills.

2. Responsibilities:

2.1. Assist the Director of HSE with the maintenance and administration of the company’s Safety Management System (SMS) by providing surveillance and monitoring of environmental, safety, and health workforce practices and procedures to ensure compliance with all ISO, OSHA, EPA, TCEQ, and other agency regulations, guidelines, and best practices.

2.2. Maintain the ISO 14001 Environmental Certification and ensure all documentation and activities comply with the standard.

2.3. Maintain and apply Environmental Sustainability and Governance Program (ESG) reporting frameworks and collect, validate, calculate, and aggregate ESG data for audit reporting.

2.4. Advise company management of conditions that could lead to non-compliance, unsafe working conditions, and environmental concerns.

2.5. Evaluate HSE data, and prepare and/or support preparation of all reports as required by applicable regulations and company policies. Maintain records in compliance with applicable regulations.

2.6. Respond to, investigate, prepare, and follow up on all environmental mishaps, including making reports to regulatory agencies and company management.

2.7. Ensure completion and documentation of all Environmental audits, assessments, and site and component inspections, required by regulation and/or policy. Coordinate any follow-up or corrective actions that may be required.

2.8. Assist in source testing, coordinate remediation activities, and act as liaison for environmental agency site inspections.

2.9. Coordinate industrial and hazardous waste management including storage, shipping, record keeping, data reporting, and emergency response.

2.10. Maintaining audit awareness of Global Environmental Sustainability and Governance Program (ESG) trends and tools, metrics, and KPIs, and sharing updates and implications with the broader ESG team and beyond

2.11. Track and maintain Safety Data Sheet (SDS) to comply with OSHA Right-to-Know regulations.

2.12. Work effectively and efficiently in team-based and independent working environments to reduce costs and add value to the organization.

2.13. Develop, implement, and monitor comprehensive environmental processes, training programs, and management practices to eliminate all environmental-related incidents in the workplace and meet all applicable company and regulatory policies.

2.14. Ensures every employee has the right and responsibility to stop work when an unsafe act or condition has been identified.

2.15. Perform any other task within reason that may be assigned by the Director of HSE.

3. Activities:

3.1. Measures, identifies, and corrects gaps and nonconformance within the Environmental Management System.

3.2. Innovating and developing new solutions within the ESG & Climate Risk Advisory practice

3.3. Monitors all Environmental correspondence to ensure accurate corrections are in place to mitigate risk and hazards. 

3.4. Actively fosters best practices regarding environmental control and waste minimization.

3.5. Ensures all Environmental policies and procedures are updated, controlled, and communicated.

3.6. Various compliance activities and implementation of various aspects of management systems in all areas of HSE.

3.7. Support the HSE team in various functions as required.

3.8. All duties as assigned.

4. Authority and Obligation:

4.1. This position has the authority to stop production at any time that is deemed necessary for reasons of safety.
