Boren Brothers is hiring! We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Dispatcher to join our team. As a Dispatcher, you will play a crucial role in coordinating and managing our operations. Your ability to analyze data, utilize transportation management systems, and communicate effectively with drivers, will contribute to the smooth and efficient flow of our operations.
Your responsibilites would include-
Safety
- Engage assigned employees in active participation to instill a culture of safety by demonstration of a personal commitment to safe operations and active personal outreach to operational employees.
- Work to remove unsafe conditions or situations from drivers’ routes.
- Work with the sales team to identify and eliminate any unsafe conditions on new route or for new customers.
- Partner with the maintenance department to ensure all equipment remains in working order and in compliance with safety standards.
Employees/Culture
- Create and effectively communicate daily lineup to drivers.
- Ensure new frontline employees have tools, instruction, and feedback for successful daily duties.
- Provide timely and consistent touchpoints with frontline employees.
- Collaborate with Operations Manager and provide coaching to drivers on efficiency updates and safety improvement opportunities.
- Provide coaching for drivers in categories including, but not limited to safety, attendance, and on-road performance.
- Actively practice and seek feedback on coaching conversations.
- Being in constant communication with Drivers to check route progress and make sure they have all necessary information.
Performance
- Create, modify and improve routes to maximize density and improve efficiency.
- Create and sequence routes that make operational sense and are efficient.
- Establish productivity goals where needed; ensure adherence to operating standards; and manage labor hours and disposal expenses per established and agreed plans.
- Lead drivers to exceed productivity goals and expectations for all routes.
- Identify and address improvement opportunities and collaborate with frontline employees to ensure continued success.
Customer Service
- Handle and field incoming calls and e-mails from customer service and sales department; manage requests for all pick-up or delivery on any container movement within the service area.
- Provide Drivers visibility and education on which Customer called in the MPU and where the MPU occurred to avoid any future MPU failures from that Driver.
- Quickly and proactively resolve problems that may arise while Trucks and Drivers are on route.
- Initiate communication to customers while drivers are on-site/location, resolving pick-up and other issues delaying the service.
- Root cause customer service issues and provide response.
Other
- Perform other job-related duties as needed or assigned.
- Be available when drivers are on road completing work.
- Position will be on a weekend on-call rotation with other Operations Supervisors.
