Job Summary

Supports the operation functions at designated work sites. Provides delivery of material and services to customer sites, maintains equipment and daily equipment logs, maintains forklift inspection reports, and receives, checks and packs material to be delivered.

Performs inventory functions including, order filling, stocking, cycle counts, processing returns and shipping and receiving.

Responsibilities

Essential Functions

  • Provide delivery of material and services to customer sites.
  • Maintain equipment in clean, good working condition and monitors maintenance and mileage data.
  • Maintains daily equipment logs and daily forklift inspection reports.
  • Observes and adheres to all local, state, and federal DOT regulations.
  • Receives, checks and packs material to be delivered.
  • Performs Inventory functions including, but not limited to, order filling, stocking, and cycle counts, processing returns, receiving and shipping, as needed.
  • Assists with loading and unloading material at designated work sites and branch and customer locations.

Non-essential Functions

  • Uses handheld computer technology as required to receive, put-away, issue and other tasks as required.
  • Completes required BSE and Customer required training to enter customer work site(s).
  • Completes required OSHA Safety Training prior to entering customer’s work site(s).

Qualifications

  • Prefer a minimum of a two-year business / trade degree or equivalent in work experience.
  • Prior construction experience including large equipment or forklift operation is required.
  • Good knowledge of electrical products / systems is preferred.
  • Minimum of 21 years of age is required.
  • A valid Class A CDL driver’s license for the state of residence along with a current medical certification is a PLUS.
  • Ability to read, write and speak in English required.
  • Working knowledge of PC for Windows, Internet, Email and SAP software is a plus.
  • Must have heavy material lifting experience.
  • Knowledge of Rigging safety is a plus.
  • Knowledge will include personal protective equipment, equipment inspection, hazard assessment, slings and hitches, hand signals, load charts and angles.
  • Knowledge of securing all loads to flatbed trailers is a plus.

  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills (reading, writing and speaking English)
  • Ability to effectively plan and organize.
  • Excellent customer service skills include being competent, accurate, responsive and engaged.
  • Ability to be experienced, safe, and efficient operators of large material handling equipment.
