Technical Writer

Key Role:

Write and edit technical documentation, user manuals, and sales and training literature. Apply specific functional knowledge, including working and general industry knowledge. Develop or contribute to solutions to a variety of problems of moderate scope and complexity. Work independently with some guidance and review or guide activities of more junior employees.

Basic Qualifications:

• Experience reviewing documentation for grammatical accuracy

• Experience disseminating sophisticated or technical concepts in written format

• Experience with using Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

• Ability to provide documentation and administrative support for software development teams and projects

• Ability to prepare, run, and distribute project reports, as needed

• Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust or Suitability/Fitness determination based on client requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or 4 years of experience as a technical writer in lieu of a degree

Additional Qualifications:

• Experience with JIRA and Confluence

• Knowledge of running 508 Compliance with MS Word

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $54,000.00 to $123,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
