Database Administrator

As a database administrator with a solid background in managing enterprise-level databases and their underlying servers, you know how to manage and secure database technology. On our team, you will work individually or in a small integrated team to support the completion of database administrator projects. You’ll provide technical expertise for database design, development, implementation, management, administration, information storage and retrieval, data flow, and analysis for SQL and NoSQL database systems across multiple environments, including production, development, and testing environments. You'll develop relational and Object-Oriented databases, database parser software, and database loading software, as required. You will collaborate to project long-range requirements for database administration and design. You will work primarily at the front end of the lifecycle-requirements through system acceptance testing and Initial Operational Capability (IOC). You will develop requirements from a project’s inception to its conclusion for a particular business and IT subject matter area, including simple to complex systems. You will constantly look for ways to implement database tuning and performance optimization, perform backup and recovery, and design prototypes against logical models. You will work with teammates to evaluate security controls on databases, applications, and underlying operating systems. You'll configure and manage Linux operating systems and back-end databases. You will install and load Oracle PeopleSoft software application software.

You Have:

• 2 years of experience with installing, configuring, or maintaining devices, applications, and security tools

• Experience with Linux Server

• Experience with automating tasks, deployments, or managing databases using PowerShell, BASH, or SQL scripting and programming

• Experience in a consulting, client-facing, fast -paced environment

• Ability to use presentation expertise to convey complex ideas to clients and internal staff

• Ability to maintain database support tools and database tables and dictionaries

• Ability to perform database recovery, back-up, and upgrade procedures

• TS/SCI clearance with a polygraph

• HS diploma or GED and 7 years of experience with supporting IT projects and activities, Associate’s degree and 5 years of experience supporting IT projects and activities, or Bachelor’s degree and 3 years of experience supporting IT projects and activities

Nice If You Have:

• Experience with Gigamon, Trellix and FireEye, Ansible, Encase, Fidelis, Suricata, Varonis, or VMWare PeopleSoft tools

• Experience with DoD Risk Management Framework

• Experience with developing database structures that fit into the overall architecture of the systems under development

• Experience with data security, data integrity, and data availability

• Experience with Commercial Cloud Enterprise or cloud services, including AWS, Azure, or GCP

• Ability to make decisions on tradeoffs among data volumes, number of users, logical and physical distribution, response times, retention rules, security, and domain controls

• Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills

• Possession of excellent problem-solving skills

• DoD 8570.01-M IAT Level II Certification, including Security CE, CCNA-Security, GSEC, SSCP, CySA , GICSP, or CND Certification

• DoD 8570.01-M CSSP-IS Certification, including CEH, CySA , GICSP, SSCP, CHFI, CFR, Cloud , or CND Certification

Clearance:
Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; TS/SCI clearance with polygraph is required.

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $73,100.00 to $166,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
