Systems and Network Security Engineer

The Opportunity:

Are you looking for an opportunity to share your experience in Development, Security, and Operations (DevSecOps) that will support our country's warfighters? As a systems security and network security engineer, you can identify the tools, tactics, and techniques needed to assess vulnerabilities and recommend the best solution and security strategy. We need your experience to lead the development and implementation of security solutions for our client's software and systems.

On our team, you'll troubleshoot and analyze complex challenges for customers using your knowledge of Test Strategies, Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIG), Security Requirements Guides (SRG), Nessus, static code analysis tools, and novel custom testing procedures. You'll use your curiosity for technology and market trends to further research and develop security solutions. Using your knowledge and experience in Microsoft and Linux systems, Cisco, Juniper, Unix systems, relational and non-relational databases, and various programming languages, you'll help assess security threats and implement infrastructure controls.

In this role, you'll closely impact the Joint Service's tactical systemsby accelerating the identification and implementation of necessary system changes by working in lock step with the development teams.With mentoring, challenging hands-on problem-solving, and opportunities to learn new tools and skills, we focus on growing as a team to make the best solutions for our customers.

What You'll Work On:

*Develop relationships quickly and easily with other teams, communicating the complexities of security with a wide variety of audiences, including senior management.

*Implement infrastructure and cyber security controls, including enhanced detection and vulnerability capabilities and improved event correlation in large enterprises.

*Perform risk and vulnerability assessments in network, system, and application areas.

*Leverage big data analytics and traditional security event types to identify advanced threats or indicators of compromise.

*Monitor the implementation of policy and procedures to support information security goals and operations.

*Analyze changes to policy or strategy to support new initiatives or required changes.

You Have:

*8 years of experience with supporting DoD systems

*5 years of experience in implementing cybersecurity in accordance with DoDI 8500.01, Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG), Security Content Automation Protocol (SCAP), and Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS), and cyber security solutions

*4 years of experience with performing risk and vulnerability assessments for Risk Management Framework (RMF)

*3 years of experience as an Information Systems Security Engineer (ISSE)and working in a matrix product team environment

*2 years of experience as part of a DoD Cybersecurity Workforce (CSWF) program

*2 years of experience with monitoring cybersecurity policies and procedures

*2 years of experience with developing, managing, and reporting on a Plan of Action and Milestones (POA&M)

*HS diploma or GED

*Secret clearance

*Navy Qualified Validator and IAT Level II Certification

Nice If You Have:

*2 years of experience with server virtualization software

*2 years of experience with network virtualization software

*Ability to build relationships quickly and easily with other teams

*Ability to communicate abstract and complex concepts to others

*Top Secret clearance

*Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Network Engineering, or a related field

*IAT Level III Certification

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $73,100.00 to $166,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen's total compensation package for employees.
