Cost Analyst

The Opportunity:

As a defense mission professional, you ask questions others don’t. You understand the nuances of complex situations. You use your skills to think bigger and push further, solving complex problems. We’re looking for an expert like you to create cost estimates for the solutions and missions that keep our nation safe.

As a Cost Analyst, you’ll Provide Research and Development and Life Cycle Cost Estimating (LCCE) support, at the 50% and 80% confidence levels, for Analysis of Alternatives (AoA) projects. You’ll work with Program Managers and technical experts to develop Work Breakdown Structures (WBS) and cost estimates while coordinating with the Air Force client. You’ll prepare reports and presentations for teammates, managers, clients, and senior Air Force leaders. Bring your consulting, analytical, strategic, tactical, technical, and DOTMLPF expertise to work on projects for the Department of Defense (DoD) focused on battle management and command and control. You’ll analyze, assess, plan, and provide support to analytical efforts and operations for future developments of Air Force operations. You’ll be a trusted advisor to our clients, and we’ll look to you to identify, analyze, and evaluate complex systems, policies, and processes as part of service and joint missions.

You Have:

  • 3 years of experience working with military cost analysis in support of system development with active-duty military, national guard bureau, and civilian agencies for the Air Force
  • Experience with a variety of cost models to include ACEIT, SEER, and PRICE, and cost analysis processes and methodologies
  • Ability to present complex operational and analytical cost information to Air Force senior leaders
  • TS/SCI clearance
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Mathematics, Statistics, Business Administration, Accounting, or Finance
  • Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA) Business- Cost Estimating (BUS-CE) Certification and Industry International Cost Estimating and Analysis Association (ICEAA) Cost Estimator and Analyst (CE/A) Certification

Nice If You Have:

  • Experience developing cost analysis plans and metrics for cost analysis
  • Experience in program and acquisition management
  • Experience using a variety of cost models to include ACEIT, SEER, and PRICE
  • Knowledge of Middle Tier Acquisition strategy, and cost analysis research techniques
  • Knowledge of the Air Force Cost Analysis Agency (AFCAA), and OSD and Cost Assessment and Program Evaluation (CAPE) cost analysis processes
  • Ability to work in a multi-disciplinary environment, operate independently in the execution of assignments, and interact positively and independently with clients
  • Ability to make significant contributions to projects and analyses
  • Possession of strong analytic curiosity and creativity
  • Possession of strong planning, organizational, critical thinking, and interpersonal skills
  • Possession of excellent verbal and written communication skills

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $81,800.00 to $186,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
