The Safety and Workers Compensation Business Partner will be responsible for providing strategic direction and oversight for Boot Barn's companywide workers compensation and safety programs. Developing and maintaining a best in class safety culture based on accountability. This role will be responsible for the development and maintenance of the safety program and initiatives for all locations including retail stores, distribution centers, and corporate environments. This role is also responsible for submitting, tracking, and managing all workers compensation claims filed.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Design, implement and continuously improve company wide health and safety strategy and programs consistent with industry best practices, defining short and long term objectives and tactical plans to reach goals.
  • Maintain safety standards and initiatives that improve performance, reduce risk, mitigate incident frequency and severity, and meet regulatory compliance requirements.
  • Promote safety awareness and lead safety taskforce comprised of representatives responsible for health and safety at facility level.
  • File, review, and resolve Workers Compensation claims with assistance from broker, carrier, investigator, and legal counsel. Monitor the partners recovery to achieve medically approved return to work in limited or full duty status.
  • File, review, and monitor customer incident report claims with assistance from broker, carrier and legal counsel.
  • Conduct onsite safety reviews and audits at all locations to ensure compliance and safe working operations as specified and required by OSHA and company policy and procedure.
  • Responsible for thorough analysis of claim trends for development and implementation of strategies to effectively resolve actual or perceived losses or issues. Conducts research and statistical analysis to identify patterns, trends, and opportunities.
  • Forecasts expenditures and participates in the development of administration of workers compensation program reserves.
  • Ensure compliance with all environmental, health and safety standards by local, state and federal agencies.
  • Partners with the Total Rewards team to ensure applicable workers compensation cases are properly placed on a leave of absence.
  • Manages covid related compliance.
  • Facilitate and collaborate with cross-function teams to ensure goals of Boot Barn's safety and workers compensation programs are met.
  • Assist in creation and oversight of emergency response and preparedness at all locations in partnership with Loss Prevention.
  • Complete other projects and duties as assigned
  • Demonstrates high level of quality work, attendance and appearance.
  • Demonstrates high degree of professionalism in communication, attitude and teamwork with customers, peers and management.
  • Adhere to all local, federal and state laws in addition to Company policies, procedures, and practices.
  • Performs any other duties that may be assigned by management.
Requirements:

Qualifications

  • Strong communication, customer service, time management and organizational skills.
  • 5-7 years of experience working in a Workers Compensation and Safety oversight role in a corporate environment; retail highly preferred
  • Working knowledge of safety regulations and OSHA regulations
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, or Environmental Health and Safety or related field
  • Ability to travel to warehouse and store locations as needed
  • Experience in Word, Excel, ADP, and other applicable databases as helpful

PAY RANGE: $80,000.00 - $95,000.00*

  • compensation varies based on geography, skills, experience, and tenure
