BOOST is helping one of their teaming parties hire a proven Security Architect to join their team. Our client is a dynamic and innovative management and information technology consultancy with a relentless commitment to delivering value and driving the entrepreneurial spirit.

You will be responsible for supporting a federal agency by developing, maintaining, enhancing, and validating its security architecture as part of an enterprise architecture program. This is a full-time, hybrid role requiring 1-2 days on site in McLean, VA or Washington, DC.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the Lead Enterprise Architect to assess, plan, and update the agency’s security architecture
  • Understand security risks to the enterprise architecture strategy and work out effective mitigation strategies
  • Work with agency program offices and stakeholders to identify and proactively engage on security planning, strategy, and implementation
  • Identify information technology inadequacies and/or deficiencies that affect the functional area’s ability to support/meet organizational goals and security objectives
  • Experience with technology projects, preferably enterprise architecture
  • Ensure alignment with the White House Executive Order on Improving the Nation’s Cybersecurity
  • Implement SABSA Framework architectural layers to support critical security initiatives
  • Work with the Enterprise Architect and associated team members to identify and promote secure design, coding and configuration best practices to enhance the security posture of FSA systems
  • Support agency and system cyber defense planning practices and proactively report on updates or changes to stakeholders, clients, and leadership
  • Provide recommendations for security controls for network infrastructure, and application development teams
  • Document exemptions to security policies and justifications of why the exemptions were applied
  • Ability to complete individual tasks effectively, work in a team environment, and be proactive with little guidance
  • Experience implementing tools and frameworks to support clients’ future-state security initiatives
  • Ability to think critically and analyze a wide variety of complex problems
  • Proactive and willing to engage in a high degree of verbal and written communication to support the program manager and team in its delivery to the client

Qualifications

Education/Experience Requirements 

  • A strong working knowledge of Federal enterprise architecture policies and practices, federal cybersecurity policies and practices; knowledge of current cyber security controls; and system development life cycles
  • Bachelor's degree
  • 5 years of professional experience

Personal Requirements 

  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and within a team setting
  • Proactive and self-motivated

Work Authorization Requirements 

  • Ability to work on-site in McLean, VA and Washington, DC
  • Ability to secure a Public Trust clearance or higher

Preferred Qualifications

  • SABSA certification

  • Experience with security architecture for a federal agency

  • Experience supporting a chief information officer organization

  • CISSP certification

  • Experience with Alfabet
