ROLE SUMMARY:

As the Director of Competitive Employment, you'll oversee BCI’s Competitive Employment services and will lead our efforts in providing top-notch services to individuals with disabilities. Your role involves overseeing the development, implementation, and management of Competitive Employment programs, fostering community partnerships, and guiding a dedicated team. A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A DIRECTOR OF COMPETITIVE EMPLOYMENT CAN LOOK LIKE:

  • Strategic Leadership: Directing and managing all aspects of Competitive Employment: Contracted services with Vocational Rehab, SB40 Boards, and Department of Mental Health.
  • Team Management: Leading and training a team of Competitive Employment Advisors, Job Coaches, and Retention Specialists, delegating caseloads, ensuring excellent quality of services and deadlines are being met, and approving mileage and credit card statements.
  • Operational Excellence: Developing and updating Standard Operating Procedures, Process Flows, and Training Sheets as applicable and as changes occur.
  • Community Outreach: Developing and maintaining strong relationships with funders, employment partners, industry organizations, public agencies and referring schools to enhance program effectiveness and sustainability along with sourcing job openings and securing employment and vocational training opportunities for clients.
  • Liaison Partnership: Being the primary contact for Vocational Rehab (VR); responsible for approval, delegation, and invoicing of all referred contracts and reporting.
  • Client Support: Providing guidance to the team in delivering career exploration, job development/placement, and on-the-job coaching services, ensuring individual needs are met.
  • Data Management: Developing and implementing efficient data collection and reporting methods to track program outcomes and compliance standards.
  • Compliance and Documentation: Ensuring all paperwork and documentation is completed accurately and on time, adhering to relevant standards and regulations.
  • Continuous Improvement: Proactively identifying opportunities for program enhancement and process optimization, driving continuous improvement efforts.
  • Community Representation: Actively engaging in organizations relevant to BCI's mission and/or vision along with representing Competitive Employment at BCI's Employment Services board subcommittee.
  • Collaboration: Leading regular meetings with the Competitive Employment team to maintain communication and consistency of services.
  • Professional Development: Staying updated on industry trends and best practices, attending meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities.

EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School Diploma or G.E.D.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Special Education, Behavior Sciences, Social Work, Business Management, or related field preferred.
  • At least 3 years of supervisory experience leading agency Employment Services preferred.
  • At least 3 years of working with individuals with disabilities preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word; Excel; Outlook).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to multi-task.
  • Flexible schedule to accommodate individuals.
  • Reliable transportation.


LOCATION:
St. Peters, Missouri
PAY: $65,000 - $75,000 per year
