Receiving and Dock Lead

Bookstores.com and its affiliates are hiring a Receiving and Dock Lead. This position will help oversee all incoming and outgoing shipments and ensure that they are processed correctly according to policy and procedures. Responsibilities are to include establishing a safe and efficient work environment while maintaining all shipments are organized accordingly.

Dock:

• Unload and load shipments on trailers. Verification of shipment details, etc.
• Receive and sort small package deliveries between inbound shipments and returns.
• Label inbound shipments with internal documentation for processing. Coordinate with internal departments for needed information so shipments can be processed.
• Preparation of outbound shipments for Amazon FBA facilities. Involves physical preparation of pallets and utilization of proprietary computer software and Excel.

Receiving Processing Lines:

• Oversee receiving processing lines and ensure the expected pace is maintained.
• Organize workload for receiving processing lines by assigning shipment priorities and ensure the right pallets are at the right lines in a timely manner.
• Answer questions related to specific inventory issues which impact the receiving processing lines. Address errors and other issues that occur during shipment processing.

Skills:

• Basic computer (email, excel, printing, etc.)
• Excellent communication skills with business and technology departments
• Physically able to lift 60 pounds.
• Physically able to lift, pull, push, bend, and stretch while working with boxes on pallets
• Operate a forklift preferred. Will train if needed.
• Supervisory experience preferred

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.98 - $22.85 per hour

• 8 hour shift

• Warehouse experience: 2 years (Required)
