Books-A-Million is Hiring a Marketing Intern-Graphic Design Near Birmingham, AL
Work with in-house marketing team to design and produce advertising, communication, promotional and marketing elements for the Books-A-Million and 2nd & Charles brands.Roles And Responsibilities
- Assist the Creative department in the completion and production projects for Books-A-Million, 2nd & Charles, Joe Muggs and Yogurt Mountain.
- Edit, update, and support the Graphic Designers in executing the creative elements for individual projects, directives and/or initiatives.
- Prepare and edit assets, creative, and files for print and digital execution in accordance to department and vendor specifications. This includes, but not limited to type setting, image manipulation and photo editing, art creation or modification, and video post work.
- Assist with proprietary product, event promotion, social media content and collateral design.
- Gain knowledge and understanding of the retail industry.
- Senior level or recent graduate. Degree in Graphic Design preferred.
- Knowledge of various design applications.
- Knowledge of printing, prepress, and digital output.
- Must be proficient with Adobe Creative Cloud Suite and other design support software.
- Should have a baseline competency in HTML but is not required.
- Should have a strong competency in digital photography and image manipulation.
- Should be highly competent in design thinking and problem solving.
- Should be a skilled multi-tasker that thrives in a fun, open, quick-paced environment.
- Ought to possess strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Should work effectively with a variety of people under tight time constraints and deadlines.
- Must be able to sit at a computer or desk for extended periods of time.
- Must be able to use hands/arms to operate keyboard, telephone and for repetitive motion activities.
- Must be able to lift objects up to 25 lbs. with or without assistance.
- Must be able to communicate using speech, sight, and sound with or without assistive device. Must be able to stand, walk, stoop or crouch while performing daily activities of the job.
