Student Support Assistant 

Mandatory training days June 27-29

Dates of Employment: June 27, 2023 - July 28, 2023 Hourly Rate: $18 - $20 per hour

Job Description
A Student Support Assistant works directly with education-certified staff to collect data and monitor academic and behavioral tasks vital to the special needs of students.
A Student Support Assistant works with students who exhibit angry, aggressive, withdrawn, or other correctable behaviors while at school or at school activities. They should create effective strategies for children while promoting positive reinforcement.
The job may occasionally require running short distances or standing, sitting, or kneeling for long periods. The Student Support Assistant must also be Physical/Psychological Management Training Certified (PMT) and must be physically able to restrain a student when necessary.
Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs.
Must pass “fit for duty” and human evaluation performance tests prior to hire.
CPR training issued by the Red Cross or American Heart Association and first aid training may be required.
Candidates should maintain ethnic and cultural sensitivity and implement strategies that are geared toward the development stages of the children.

Education
Minimum 2 years of college.

Experience
Minimum 2 years working with children.
