PAREXEL is Hiring an Executive Director, Strategic Finance - Enterprise Near Durham, NC

Parexel has an excellent opportunity for an Executive Director, Strategic Finance to join their global team. The Executive Director, Strategic Finance is required to partner with Senior Operational leaders in our Enterprise business unit to provide financial metrics to help guide their Service Lines to improve key metrics, for example forecast accuracy, revenue and margin growth.
Key Accountabilities:
  • Considers the big picture, including all stakeholders, and looks beyond the obvious to anticipate problems and data needs and proactively find solutions. Works with Commercial and Finance to interpret the most critical financial information.
  • Drive process, system and financial improvements, by leveraging relevant and impactful metrics.
  • Leverage understanding of the business context with his/her team and business leaders to synthesize financial and operational data into meaningful business insights that highlight performance, risk, and opportunities.
  • Working with his/her team to regularly review key portfolio/client financial management performance indicators, identify and implement areas for improvement, develop solutions and adjust org unit tactics, policies and procedures to improve client portfolio financial outcomes.
  • Drive margin improvement in the Business Segment by leveraging data and ensuring that Operational Leaders are armed with data to drive improvements Ensures all staff are properly trained and capable of meeting internal and external stakeholder expectations and needs.
  • Undertake the full range of duties relevant to the leadership, management and development of the team to ensure their performance meets and or exceeds both the business and their own personal goals/objectives.
  • Maintain a positive, results orientated work environment, building partnerships and modeling teamwork, communicating to the team in an open, balanced and objective manner.
  • Coaches his/her team on how to properly and professionally interact with customers during both routine and tense situations.
  • Model Parexel Finance people leadership, competencies and values/ways of working.
  • Be a visible Finance leader across Business Unit.
Success Factors:
This role requires a high degree of professionalism and the ability to accomplish objectives with limited supervision and limited oversight, while providing oversight to their team. The role requires a high degree of pro activity and initiative while directly leading a team of Finance professionals and aligning this team to support the growth of the of the Enterprise Business Unit. The role requires an ability to see the wider picture and proactively drive towards solutions in advance of being instructed to. The role requires the individual to build and lead an effective business partnership with SBU Operations Management as well as various Corporate-level functions. Candidates must have the ability to persuade and influence senior management and the capacity to actively engage and guide the SBU's financial and operations teams to meet their goals and objectives - both financial and non-financial.
Knowledge and Experience :
  • Relevant level of progressive finance and management leadership roles with strong analytical and partnering track record. Best candidate has both strong financial and clinical research expertise, usually gained with 12-15 years of experience.
  • Strong staff leadership and management, within globally dispersed teams. Demonstrated focus on coaching, talent development and continuous learning through hiring, development and timely performance feedback.
Education:
  • BA in Finance or Accounting, MA in Finance or MBA, or equivalent experience required.
