Senior Director Finance, Advanced Analytics

We are seeking an innovative Senior Finance Lead with finance analytics/modeling experience from the CRO industry to join IQVIA’s Center for Advanced Business Modeling and Analytics (CAM) within the Research & Development Solutions (R&DS) organization.

CAM’s mission is to augment IQVIA’s ability to expand margins and drive top-line growth by using data and data science to help provide insights in areas that can improve our financial performance for both costs and revenue. 

This finance lead role will leverage financial domain expertise and best practices to understand and predict operational parameters and the corresponding impact to resources and finances thereby supporting management decision making and strengthening key stakeholder/investor confidence in our financial performance. 

Role Responsibilities:

  • Design/lead financial analytics including modeling of finance/operational processes supporting revenue, backlog, costs, resourcing, and other parameters.
  • Collaborate and engage with RDS executives, Finance/HR/BUs, and other cross-functional teams across R&DS to understand the scope of various business problems and execute an analysis plan that is aligned with strategic objectives.
  • Use various data-driven analyses methods, algorithms, and processes to extract knowledge and insights from structured and unstructured data.
  • Support overall CAM strategy including short/mid/long range planning ensuring alignment to strategic goals and objectives.
  • Communicate findings (supported by fact-based analysis) and insights effectively both verbally and in written form including authoring executive-ready presentations.
  • Individual contributor that can lead teams and initiatives cross functionally in problem-solving in an innovative manner, employing balanced and pragmatic ideation followed up by explicit execution.
  • Manage projects/initiatives in a matrixed environment both internal and external to CAM team from inception to completion including operational readiness efforts as relevant.
  • Approach problems with a curious mindset and delve into processes and areas of risk and concern.
  • Ensure high-quality efficient and effective initiative/product delivery to meet goals and objectives.
  • Remains current on industry, client, and competitive trends through participation in formal and informal learning opportunities.
  • Contribute to the building, mentorship, and retention of an outstanding, high performing team.
  • Support/represent CAM in other areas, special projects, task forces, etc. as requested.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, manager, and clients.
  • Perform other duties and ad hoc analysis as assigned. 

Qualifications / Requirements:

  • Role is home based in the United States with preference in Eastern time zone.
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or business administration required.
  • 12 years’ experience in finance role.
  • Experience in the CRO industry in a finance related role.
  • Strong working knowledge of business, planning, forecasting practices.
  • Experience in a data-driven, matrix environment including an understanding of data integration practices.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite with advanced MS Excel skills.
  • Strong problem-solving, and analytical and numeracy skills
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to lead, manage and execute across conflicting and multiple priorities effectively.

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience with tools such as Spotfire, PowerBI.
  • Working knowledge of data integration and data warehousing/mart best-practices.
  • Systems expertise and knowledge of big-data integration.

The potential base pay range for this role, when annualized, is $156,100.00 - $265,700.00. The actual base pay offered may vary based on a number of factors including job-related qualifications such as knowledge, skills, education, and experience; location; and/or schedule (full or part-time). Dependent on the position offered, incentive plans, bonuses, and/or other forms of compensation may be offered, in addition to a range of health and welfare and/or other benefits.
