Position Overview: The Civil Engineering Technician will be responsible for supporting the civil engineering team in the design, planning, and execution of infrastructure projects using AutoCAD Civil3D. The ideal candidate will possess in-depth knowledge of AutoCAD Civil3D and demonstrate a strong ability to produce accurate, detailed, and efficient designs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Utilize AutoCAD Civil3D to create detailed design drawings, plans, and profiles for civil infrastructure projects such as roads, bridges, paving/grading plans, drainage systems, utilities, and more.
  • Assist in topographical data analysis and site layout.
  • Collaborate with engineers and other team members to understand project requirements and provide technical support.
  • Ensure designs meet established standards and specifications.
  • Prepare and revise drawings and documentation based on feedback from engineers and project stakeholders.
  • Perform quantity take-offs and assist in the preparation of cost estimates.
  • Stay updated with the latest versions of AutoCAD Civil3D and other relevant software to maintain proficiency.
  • Contribute to team meetings and provide insights on potential design improvements.
  • Assist in on-site visits to verify drawings and ensure alignment with actual site conditions.

Qualifications:

  • Associate degree in Civil Engineering Technology or related field.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD Civil3D with an ability to demonstrate hands-on experience.
  • Familiarity with civil engineering design standards and practices (i.e. DOTD Design Guidelines, AASHTO Greenbook, etc).
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to produce accurate and high-quality work.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • General familiarity with GIS applications or other relevant software.

Physical Requirements:

  • Normal, corrective vision range; ability to see color and to distinguish letters, numbers and symbols
  • Frequently required to sit, stand, walk, talk, hear, bend and reach for long periods of times, including periods of time on construction sites
  • Ability to reach with hands and arms
  • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds

Compensation and Benefits

  • Starting salary depends on experience/certifications/licensure/skillset
  • Salary range of $65k - $87k includes base bonus compensation potential
  • Benefits package includes Medical, Dental, Vision, Short & Long-Term Disability, and Life/AD&D Insurance
  • Simple IRA Retirement Plan with Employer Match
  • The position is full-time
