Position: Deputy Prosecuting Attorney
Starting Salary: $75,000 DOE
Work Hours: 40 hours a week
Closing Date: June 7, 2024

GENERAL PURPOSE
Represent the State of Idaho as a trial attorney in the prosecution of criminal, quasi-criminal, and civil actions in Juvenile, Magistrate, and District Court proceedings and assist the Prosecuting Attorney in performing all statutory and constitutional functions; perform related work as required.

Interested individuals must be eligible to be licensed to practice law in the State of Idaho. SUPERVISION RECEIVED
Works under the general supervision of the Prosecuting Attorney and/or Chief Deputy Prosecutor.
SUPERVISION EXERCISED
Provides close supervision to Legal Secretaries on a project‑by‑project basis.

Reasoning Ability: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions from broadly defined situations requiring inferential reasoning. Ability to interpret, speculate or design future outcomes and conditions from known or unknown facts, using qualitative and quantitative analysis and present those in graph or diagram form. Ability to deal with several abstract and concrete variables, address situations, problems, and challenges, and formulate solutions. Interruptions are infrequent. Ability to occasionally multi-task duties.
Technology and Equipment Skills Competent ability to use a personal computer and associated peripherals and use operating systems, software, and databases specific to the County, Internet, and MS Office. Ability to use telephone, copy machine, printers, scanning devices, calculator and general office equipment.
Other Requirements: Must be able to successfully pass a criminal background check and a mandatory pre-employment drug test. Must be able to work as required including evenings, weekends and on-call.
