Bonnell Industries is Hiring a Sales Manager Near Dixon, IL

Summary/Objective
Directly responsible for leading the Sales team efforts, both regionally direct sales and National dealer sales. Devoted to selling the complete portfolio of Bonnell Industries Inc. goods and services to current and future markets of interest. Develop overall strategic and tactical plans to achieve annual and long-term revenue and growth objectives. Works collaboratively with other department managers to develop and execute annual objectives.
Essential Functions

Sales
  • Responsible for sales forecasting company wide
  • Create and implement effective sales strategies leading our outside sales team to achieve sales goals
  • Manage the quoting process from beginning to end within established timelines (48-hour standard)
  • Manages the follows up (by phone or visit) on quotes submitted to customers
  • Hold all sales personnel accountable for performance and customer service
  • Responsible for all related dealer sales activities. Including assisting in developing specific sales programs and implementing them thru the dealer organization, resulting in continued sales growth
  • Provide clear direction and coaching to direct reports and sales personnel
  • Acts as a resource to sales team members in contract opportunities, negotiations, closing the sale while developing dealer network relationships for additional business
  • Analyze weekly activity/call reports concerning customer-related activities for quotes, orders, and problems concerning customer/vendor relationships for continuous improvement
  • Negotiate and close agreements with large customers. Participates & facilitate education and training conferences on selling programs
  • Assist in customer service as needed to ensure a high level of quality in customer satisfaction
  • Establish effective relationships and collaboration with other departments to address key business issues and opportunities
  • Stay up-to-date with new product launches and ensure sales team members are fully trained on new and existing product lines and our selling strategy for that product
  • Evaluate market trends for future potential product releases and make recommendations accordingly
  • Participate in appropriate industry trade shows to grow the business and Coordinate Sales involvement.
Product Management
  • Stay informed of new products, services and other general information of interest to customers. Checks on our competitor’s activity and develops new approaches as needed
  • Proactively identify and respond to unexpected changes in business conditions or in the company’s markets to capitalize on new opportunities and / or respond to unexpected challenges
  • Provides input on new and revised product development, including idea generation. Will carry each assigned project through from inception to market implementation

Supervisory Responsibility
This position manages the National Sales Team, the Marketing Coordinator, and the Sales Coordinator.
Work Environment
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
Travel
Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out of the area and overnight travel may be expected. All travel must be approved in advance by management. Please reference the employee handbook for all applicable policies.
Required Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • At least five years of sales experience (manufacturing/distributor).
  • Prior experience supervising, coaching and developing staff.
  • Proven leadership and influencing skills with effective communication.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite & CRM software.
Preferred Education and Experience
  • Similar or related product knowledge.
  • Advanced training in recent sales techniques.
  • Experience using Sage and/or Salesforce.
