Bone and Joint Center, S.C. is Hiring an Athletic Trainer (Occasional) Near Wausau, WI

We are looking for an Athletic Trainer who is ready to help athletes in the community reach their goals related to sports on a PRN/Occasional basis. You will be working in one of our area schools to assist athletes who are returning to a sport after injury and providing game coverage for multiple sports during the seasons. This is great for LATs who may not want a lot of hours, but want to keep their skills sharp

Bone & Joint is a physician owned practice with a great team of orthopedic and PM&R providers. We currently have offices in Rib Mountain, Wausau, Merrill, Medford, and Plover to service much of central Wisconsin. Bone & Joint strives to be the best place for patients to receive care, the best place for providers to practice, and the best place for employees to work.

A DAY IN THE LIFE OF AN ATHLETIC TRAINER

Athletic trainers will spend most of their time in the local schools helping athletes prepare for practices and games, checking in with athletes to continue their recovery, and covering sporting events. There will be a small portion of their time spent in the clinic working with our DME program and other related tasks. Communication between athletic trainers, physical therapists, and providers is a must and will be a part of this job.


QUALIFICATIONS FOR AN ATHLETIC TRAINER

  • Nationally certified through the NATA Board of Certification

  • Current Wisconsin Athletic Trainer Licensure or the ability to apply

  • Desire to provide excellent patient care while working as a team

  • Self-motivated and ability to work independently

  • Valid driver's license

WORK SCHEDULE

This position requires after school and some weekend hours to cover sporting events and allow student athletes time in the training room to prepare for practice and competition.
