JOB SUMMARY:

1. Performs individual and group therapeutic interventions as appropriate.
2. Performs administrative consultives for specialized social services as determined by the specific needs of the Institution.
3. Perform specific psychiatric social service work on the Mental Health Unit of a Correctional Facility.
4. Assists in planning and implementing the goals and objectives of programs and projects. May direct special projects as requested.
5. Participates in and conducts in-service programs, as well as assists in the orientation of new staff.
6. Provides the necessary preparation of documentation, necessary records and reports.
7. Other duties as assigned.

1. Master's degree in Social Work, Counseling Psychology or Other Related Mental Health discipline.
2. Unrestricted, current license in the state of practice - e.g. LCSW, LMFT, LPC, LMHC, Psychologist - Must maintain all licensures, certificatons, continuing educational requirements, etc.
3. Minimum of two years employment in a social work capacity in a public or private agency or equivalent.
4. Counseling experience in a correctional setting preferred.

1. Required to exert up to 50 pounds of force to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects including the human body.
2. Required to kneel, stoop, crouch and/or crawl occasionally. Frequent walking throughout site; to include walking up and down flights of stairs.
3. Must have and maintain sufficient strength, agility, and endurance to perform during stressful (physical, mental, and emotional) situations encountered on the job.
4. Occasional running when responding to emergencies; must be able to perform BLS.
5. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus. Frequently required to sit, use hands/fingers to handle or feel, and talk/hear.
6. Requires critical thinking, organizational, decisive judgment, communication, good customer service skills. Must be able to handle multiple tasks, be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate actions as needed. Must follow Corizon and departmental policies and procedures at all times
