Physical Therapy Assistant
Outpatient Clinic - 430 Clairmont Ct., Suite 120, Colonial Heights, VA 23831 (Clinic is located in the same building as the Southside College of Health Sciences)
PRN, Days/Afternoons (No weekends required)

Primary Function/General Purpose of Position
The incumbent shall be responsible for providing, under the direction of the Physical Therapist, therapeutic interventions in a team environment consistent with the position's qualifications, professional practices and ethical standards.
The incumbent shall also demonstrate accountability for and contribution to performance improvement activities as applicable, problem solving, and productivity.
Employment Qualifications

• The incumbent shall be a graduate of an APTA approved Associate's degree program or shall have completed equivalent training, and hold an applicable and current state license or certification to practice.
• Experience working with adult and geriatric populations is desirable.
• Experience working in the acute care setting is desirable however is not required
• Current BLS certification required or obtained within ninety days of completing new employee orientation.

Essential Job Functions
Clinical Area

• Provide age appropriate therapeutic interventions as directed by the Physical Therapist.
• Monitor patient response to treatment.
• Document the course of patient care in the electronic medical record including progress made and continuing need for treatment.
• Provide patient and family education on tasks and resources that support continued functional independence and document same in the electronic medical record.
