Bolton Veterinary Hospital is a fast-paced, general and emergency practice with over 20 veterinarians on staff and a support team of over 100! We are proudly privately owned, and have been in operation since 1953. 

We are currently looking for a dedicated and compassionate Social Worker to support our team members and clients. Our ideal candidate will have a background in both veterinary medicine and professional experience in social work.

About this job:

• This position consists of providing support for clients and employees including grief counseling, recommendation/provision referrals for outside resources when appropriate and designing and delivering training on topics such as communication, stress management, etc.
• Full time positions begin at 30 hours per week, and we are also open to considering part-time or contract availability.
• Compensation depends on years of experience and licensure/certification status.
• Open to flexible scheduling.

Requirements

 RequirementsThis position requires experience in medical social work, PTSD, experience with grief, bereavement and/or trauma, experience working with multi-disciplinary teams, awareness of human/animal bond.What we are looking for:

• At least 2 years of experience in social work; preferably in the field of veterinary medicine, or prior experience in another capacity in veterinary medicine (technician, hospital manager, supervisor, etc.)
• Must be able to establish rapport with a wide variety of personalities and backgrounds.
• Maintain confidentiality while providing practice leadership with recommendations and generalized feedback.
• Strong communication skills
