Overview:
Shop Assistants are responsible for helping the company provide excellent and consistent service by assisting in numerous tasks required to run a repair shop. Including maintaining cleanliness in the shop area, keeping parts and supplies stocked and ready for use, keeping equipment that has been or is to be repaired organized and clean, and assisting in minor repair work such as repairing tires, sharpening chains and blades, as well as assist in checking in equipment to be repaired. Directly reports to the Service Manager.
Responsibilities:
Show up to work timely and be ready to work
Must be willing to work weekends and 6 days a week during busy season
Perform all assigned work orders correctly, safely, and efficiently
Accurately document all work performed to each unit on the work order for invoicing.
Accurately capture all product information including serial number, model number, and other required information when checking in equipment.
Clean repaired units prior to moving them to the outbound area for delivery.
Look up parts via computer and retrieve parts from parts shelves when needed.
Train and communicate with less-experienced coworkers
Keep work area clean and organized
Housekeeping of all shop common areas and other duties as assigned

Qualifications:
Ability to operate commercial landscaping equipment
Ability to use shop tools correctly, and safely.
Ability to read and write in the English language.
Ability to use the computer for parts look up.
Ability to work in fast pace environment.
Ability walk, stand, bend, squat during entire shift.
Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening
Ability to move and lift up to 50 lbs. on a frequent basis
Ability to work outside and in un-airconditioned space
