Responsibilities:

• Order beer within established budget and margins
• Run and analyze reports to monitor sales and acquisitions
• Keep updated on department trends to ensure the Co-op is on the cutting edge of the market
• Plan and execute special promotions throughout the year
• Ensure sufficient stock, attractive, accurate point-of-sale signage and eye-catching displays
• Follow department procedures for handling new products and price changes
• Provide assistance with special orders
• Research out-of-stocks and maintain out-of-stock shelf signs
• Participate in inventory counts and other duties as assigned
• Serve every customer in a friendly, courteous, and professional manner
• Handle credits and returns

Requirements

• Purchasing/inventory management experience highly recommended
• Broad knowledge of beer and wine
• Retail experience required
• Ability to comprehend complex instructions
• Proficient with Microsoft Office suite
• Willing to work flexible schedule to meet the needs of the department
• Maintain regular and punctual attendance, with or without reasonable accommodation
• Comply with all departmental policies and procedures
• Able to build relationships, learn quickly, and maintain strong interpersonal skills
• Capable of managing workload and prioritizing tasks independently

Environment: Work is performed primarily in a grocery store setting with extensive public contact and frequent interruptions.

Physical: Primary functions require sufficient physical ability and mobility to work in an office setting; to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time; to occasionally stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and twist; to lift, carry, push, and/or pull light to moderate amounts of weight; to operate office equipment requiring repetitive hand movement and fine coordination including use of a computer keyboard; and to verbally communicate to exchange information.
