Apartment Property Caretaker. Great for a couple/or individual who takes pride in a job well done! Work 1 - 2 hours per day, Monday - Friday. Start time can be flexible. On-call for 1 week every 4 weeks.

A Caretaker is the most important person in the daily upkeep and maintenance of an apartment building. This is a shared home and takes time each day to remain clean and welcoming.

Primary Duties: Common areas are to be clean and fresh at all times. This includes but is not limited to:

Daily cleaning of common areas

Vacuum hallways and clean entry areas

Clean entry windows, spot clean walls and dust window sills

Walk 3 flights of stairs

Walk the grounds, keeping the property free of litter and debris

Replace burned out light bulbs, smoke detector batteries

Clean Laundry rooms and empty trash regularly

Keep storage areas clean and supplies in stock

Water plants, shrubs, flowers and weed

Remove trash from the parking lots daily

Keep dumpster area picked up as needed

Must be able to:

Work independently and as part of the team

Utilize Phone for work orders

Be organized and complete work on time

Perform other related duties as needed

Shovel & salt sidewalks

Physical Requirements:

Caretaking is a physically demanding job. A Caretaker must be able to: bend, kneel, squat, push, pull and lift 50 pounds without assistance.

Clear snow from side-walks and entry ways by 7:00am

Remove items from vacated apartments

Deep Clean vacated apartments

Wash carpet & floors in vacated units

Skills & Abilities:

Respond calmly and professionally with residents and co-workers

Prioritize work, clear communication Staff & Residents

Dependable and self-starter

See's what needs to be done and does it

Qualifications:

Be 18 years years of age

High School Graduate or GED

Be able to understand, speak and write in English

Working Knowledge of safe cleaning products & disposal

Prior Apartment Caretaking experience preferred
