To learn more visit becu.org/careers. SUMMARY The Contract Specialist assists the Credit Union with its third-party contracts. This role will be responsible for completing and administering basic contract forms, such as Corporate Non-Disclosure Agreements (CNDAs), certificates of insurance, termination notices, extensions and amendments, consistent with Credit Union policies. The Contract Specialist will work in coordination with the Credit Union’s legal department, business units and applicable oversight functions, assemble contracts for legal review and approval, brief management on negotiation progress, and maintain contract files and vendor data in compliance with Credit Union policy and procedures. RESPONSIBILITIES Perform all responsibilities in accordance with BECU Competencies, compliance, regulatory, and Information Protection requirements. Review vendor contracts; implement contractual language to mitigate risks presented with each vendor engagement; coordinate completion and execution of CNDAs and other Credit Union form documents. Engage in vendor negotiations within scope of authority. Review vendor certificates of insurance (COI) for compliance with contract obligations. Support the contract administration function including updating and maintaining vendor profiles and contract documentation in the repository. Provide support to business units though the contracting process, assist in implementing business terms, embrace and promote service culture within contracts team. Provide support to vendor management function. Research archives for existing and legacy contracts, including Master Service Agreements (MSAs), Statements of Work (SOWs), Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and related correspondence and documentation. Perform additional duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor’s degree, and/or paralegal certification or equivalent work and/or educational experience required. Minimum two years of paralegal or contracting experience required, including familiarity with Requests for Proposal, negotiation of contracts and statements of work, and contract administration systems or similar legal record keeping and workflow tracking systems. Excellent verbal and written skills to effectively communicate. Excellent organizational skills with focus on being able to effectively multi-task numerous projects, with varying deadlines. Proven ability to work independently and as a team member while using discretion in decision making and sound judgment in problem solving. Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to build relationships and gain consensus. Familiarity with vendor contracts and their component parts, such as MSAs, SOWs, insurance requirements and SLAs. General knowledge of basic contract concepts; familiarity with contracting in a corporate environment; financial institution experience preferred. Familiarity with IT products and services, such as software licensing, and cloud, SaaS, PaaS and IaaS arrangements required. Ability to understand, review and complete BECU form contracts and documents. Proficient PC skills (Microsoft Office, SharePoint), with the ability to learn new software.
