Summary/Objective

At The Bodacious Shops it’s all about making “bodacious” - excellent and admirable – experiences for our customers and community as we strive to carryout our mission to improve the quality of life for the people in the communities we serve. 

The cook is responsible for setting up kitchen, preparing food and cooking for shift, maintaining a clean work area, following all company food recipes, and general housekeeping in adherence to all company policies and standards of behavior. Some of the perks include: no fryers, no broiler, and no late nights.

Essential Functions

  1. Ensure each guest receives outstanding customer service in a warm and friendly environment 
  2. Prepare all food for the line 
  3. Ensure all items are labeled correctly 
  4. Follow all recipes provided 
  5. Maintain a clean work area throughout entire shift
  6. Prepare for the next day
  7. Detects and ensures disposal of spoiled or unattractive food 
  8. Completes production sheets and other records as required
  9. Responsible for generating sales and cross selling all products and services within The Bodacious Family of Shops
  10. Adhere to dress code, standards of behavior, and all company policies, procedures and practices
  11. Receive inventory by checking invoices to ensure all items are accounted for 
  12. Stock inventory in accordance with health code (i.e. no raw meats above raw vegetables) 
  13. Break down and clean work area at the end of shift (stove top cleaned, sheet pans cleared and cleaned, dishes, sweep floor, ensure all food is put away properly, etc.)
  14. Make sure ovens are turned off 
  15. May work special events and assist in all other departments; as needed with approval of supervisor(s)
  16. Communicate customer requests to management 

Performs all other duties as requested or directed 

Reports to

Position will report to General Manager/Manager.

Requirements

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  1. Maintain professional attitude and appearance at all times
  2. Well-organized and detail-oriented with all guest services
  3. Required to stand, walk, and lift items (up to 30 lbs.) on a regular basis
  4. Ability to understand and carry out oral and written instructions and request clarification when needed 
  5. Excellent communication skills 
  6. Ability to work as part of a team
  7. Ability to build relationships with customers

Education and Experience

High school diploma or GED and one to three years of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. Days and hours will vary to include evening and weekend work according to business needs. 

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The key physical requirements of this position includes the ability to walk and stand for an extended period of time, lift up to 30 pounds, and the use of standard kitchen equipment.
