POSITION TITLE: Visitor Experience Associate- Part-Time Bilingual (English-Spanish)

SUPERVISED BY: Visitor Experience Manager

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES

The Visitor Experience Associate is often a visitor’s first point of contact with the Museum. As such, they are the public face of the Museum and are responsible for providing excellent customer service to visitors while processing sales transactions, such as admissions, event ticketing, and memberships. The Visitor Experience Associate is responsible for efficiently and accurately inputting information into the Point of Sale (POS) system and protecting guests' information.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Demonstrates commitment to Boca Raton Museum of Art’s vision, mission, and values
  • Greets visitors as they arrive, provides them with information about admission, membership options, and the Museum experience
  • Verifies the beginning and ending register cash bank with the Finance department. This includes counting cash, coins, and ticket equivalents
  • Notes and investigate discrepancies and reconcile errors
  • Collects payments from the patrons while ensuring the delivery of tickets
  • Follows the start of the day and end of the day procedure with each exhibition
  • Keeps up to date on events and promotions that are run from time to time as well as be knowledgeable about exhibitions, tours, and the visitor experience
  • Gently reminds visitors of security concerns and assist with checking in their items
  • Accepts cash and credit card payments for sales of admission, event tickets, ticket equivalents, memberships, and store merchandise
  • Stocks clean and organize Museum printed material and keeps track of low inventory
  • Responds to visitors' complaints and resolve their issues with the assistance of the Visitors Experience Coordinator and/or Box Office Associate
  • Participates in Museum wide and interdepartmental teams, projects, and meetings as assigned
  • Provides coverage and support for weekends, holidays, and special events, as needed
  • Provides box office and general museum phone coverage on an assigned schedule or as needed
  • Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School diploma
  • Excellent Communications Skills
  • Experience in the visitor/customer services/retail industry preferred
  • Excellent computer skills, including, POS and ticketing systems ( Ticketure experience preferred), MS Office, and Google Site products
  • Must be customer-focused with a high level of interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
  • Effectively able to interact and maintain friendly and courteous relationships with visitors members, coworkers, and people of all backgrounds and professional levels
  • Must be able to function both independently and as a team player
  • Bilingual Spanish is preferred but not required

WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Stands and walks intermittently throughout the work day, including sitting and bending; reaches, lifts, carries, and manipulates inventory, supplies and equipment
  • Must be able to stand for long intervals
  • Must be able to cope in a fast-paced environment
  • Must be able to function independently
  • Must be in good general health
  • Work requires continuous activity and with frequent interruptions
  • Occasional lifting and carrying up to twenty pounds is necessary
  • Weekend work and some holidays required

HOURS OF POSITION

  • Part-time hourly- Non-exempt; up to 29 Hours weekly (No Benefits)
