Administer of company rules and procedures within the department.

Monitor effectiveness of systems and procedures in the department.

Assure that employees are properly trained in safe and efficient performance of their assigned duties.

Monitor work in process and supplies inventories, on time status of projects and schedules, accuracy of work, and proper adherence to procedures.

Control departmental expense spending within pre approved budget.

Assure timely and accurate information is provided regarding job completion, labor reporting, engineering change implementation and special customer requirements.

Assure that production schedules are met; providing advance information regarding needs to make changes in provided capacity.

Develops and maintains Job Safety Analyses (JSA) and Job Safety Codes (JSC) for department and ensures necessary training is conducted.

Facilitates teams and department meetings including safety meetings to ensure clear lines of communication are open.

Develops and maintains Visual Manufacturing Procedures (VMP’s) for department; reviews periodically for changes.

Assure equipment assigned to the department is properly and safely maintained and utilized.

Support the Quality Policy and corporate and divisional quality goals by identifying and eliminating problems that interfere with achieving goals. Seek to prevent quality defects through understanding the criteria and severity of those defects through Bobrick’s Four Level Defect Grading System.

Schedules production overtime to supplement production requirements and expediting of critical items in accordance with accepted overtime practices as needed.

Reviews production rework and reject part inspection reports to determine and eliminate causes.

Studies workers operating equipment and performing tasks and analyzes results to establish standard production rates, estimate costs, and to improve efficiency.

Participates in production machine layout planning, and modifications ensuring specific operational performance and optimum utilization is achieved.

Assure that commitments made by the department are routinely met.

Assists with the quotation for special models as needed. Verifies accuracy on raw costs and checks the reasonableness of stainless yield and fabrication drawings.

Investigate, report & correct all issues resulting from field complaint & corrective action reports.

Review department production procedures and flow and revise processes as necessary to bring about cost reductions and quality improvements.

Assure implemented production changes to the manufacturing process are properly documented.

Research and resolve any quality issues and effectively implement necessary changes as required.

Evaluate, select and prepare recommendations for capital equipment purchases.

Support the methods improvement suggestion program.

Perform other duties as assigned.
