Boart Longyear IT is hiring PLM Manager To develop and manage a Global Strategy to produce tools and solutions continuing to improve both Engineering and Industrial Design Departments both in efficiency and technological advances while meeting business needs with integration into the Enterprise systems.

QUALIFICATIONS:

* Bachelors in Science in an Engineering discipline or in Systems Engineering. (NTH)

* Four to eight years relevant experience producing and managing systems and projects in an engineering, quality or engineering systems environment, preferably in consumer products.

* Experienced in working on multiple architecture platforms with primary focus on Linux and Windows operating systems. (NTH)

* Capable of working with individual users to address and resolve issues

* Experience working effectively in multifunctional teams globally is essential

* Strong attention to detail with an organized approach to solutions

* Drive change into the organization with solid recommendations of improvements for Engineering and other systems

* Solid understanding of CAD tools and working with Engineers and others to assure understanding for increased accuracy and efficiency.

* Experience working with PTC for Creo/Pro-E software with ability to negotiate contracts, training, new tools and upgrades.

* Working knowledge with Solid Works CAD tools a plus.

* SQE knowledge a plus.

* XML knowledge a plus.

* Knowledge of Java language and development skills are a plus.

* .NET knowledge a plus.

* Ability to negotiate with and manage developers, SaaS and PaaS providers.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Create the 3 to 5 year strategy for the engineering system tools and solutions for the business both domestic and globally.

* Evaluate current utilization of all tools including Windchill and drive strategies to increase overall capabilities.

* Identify future needs and keep abreast of next generation techniques that could have a positive impact on our business.

* Maintain and develop improvements in the interface between Windchill and Oracle ERP.

* Installs, configures and maintains all LMS systems for engineering software tools and other IT assets utilized by Engineering.

* Monitors and manages performance of a multi-tiered, multi-level hardware and software environment at both the network and client levels

* Lead all CAD installations throughout the enterprise with continuance maintenance and support.

* Develop, implement and maintain policies and procedures for engineering data.

* Manages and plans CCM budget of all IT, technical and systems assets utilized by the Global Engineering and Supply Chain departments.

* Conduct research on new and emerging Engineering and Industrial Design tools upgrade and technologies that can be leveraged through existing and new investments

* Acts as a primary organizational interface with corporate IT department to ensure Engineering Systems is aligned with corporate IT vision and strategy

* Acts as primary contact or liaison with vendors and suppliers to evaluate, purchase and resolve issues with Engineering Systems
