Boarhog LLC is seeking an experienced Shipboard Electrician to support the Southwest Regional Maintenance Center (SWRMC) located at Naval Base San Diego, CA in successfully accomplishing its mission to provide Outside Electrical Services to SWRMC Product Family Support Services for U.S. Navy Ships.
Responsibilities/Experience:
· Must have a thorough understanding of 110V, 220V, 440V, single and three phase power
· Troubleshoot, disassemble, repair, overhaul, assemble, install, and test:
- Power panels
- Light distribution panels
- Power loss and grounds.
- Connections and disconnections of electrical power for US Naval combat systems
· Load balancing experience
· Recommend efficient and effective procedures in connecting and disconnecting power
· Provide scheduling of work scope advice and planning future installations of power requirements for Naval systems
and additional support equipment.
A typical workday would include, but is not limited to, converting Barge Lighting from Florescent lights to LED, adding, and removing power receptacles and switches, running electrical wires, installing boxes and panels; hook-up and disconnecting equipment; general maintenance of the Barge Power Grid, to include but not limited to, electrical safety checks and cleaning of panels.
Required Education, Experience, and Skills
High School education, or Trade School or equivalent, and 4 years of demonstrated experience in the electrician trade, installing and maintaining industrial type electrical distribution systems.
Preferred experience:
Knowledge of NAVSEA 9304.1D, SHIPBOARD ELECTRICAL CABLE AND CABLEWAY INSPECTION AND REPORTING PROCEDURES.
